Sorry for the delay with these posts! Our internet has been very spotty.
We arrived in Mexico ready to build, but the Lord had other plans for us! Even though we experienced intermittent rains throughout the day that prevented us from getting to our sites, we still experienced a rich day. We started with a word of the day from Joe Waters and we were challenged to make the most out of our experience at Tecate, whatever it would bring.
Without any devices, it was a sight to see! Students played old fashion board games, laughed and conversed, had pillow fights, painted nails, and even whittled walking sticks!
In the evening, we had a chapel where we had a heartfelt time of worship, heard from Sophie Giles who shared about how she experienced God in the midst of her challenges with her softball season, and Jeff Freeman, our Head of School, who shared a testimonial message of how he became a genuine Christ follower.
