Tuesday's Adventures

We visited several sites today! In this album, you can see photos from sites 9, 10, 11 (brief stop). Later in the day we went to site 6, then 1 and 2. We ended up at site 4 and then went to pick up kids at Kids Club! In the middle of the day we spent time on the soccer site which I have posted separately. We also needed to get a tire fixed on our pick up truck because we got a flat tire. Fortunately, the pastor's son told us of a nearby spot to get it fixed quickly....under $5.00 and under 30 minutes once we figured out where to take it!

Pubic Health Outreach Tuesday

Many ladies have been coming to the public health outreach. Please pray that they learn valuable lessons about their identity in Christ, value as a woman and practical lessons in diet, exercise, nutrition and more!

Soccer Tuesday

Today was the second full day of the soccer camps. The children rotated through various stations, practicing different skills. We had little tiny kids, lots of grade school kids and some teenagers, too. Everyone took a break for lunch, then we invited the kids to come back to play after lunch. The pastor of the local church is using this outreach as a way to connect with the kids and youth in the community. Please pray for tomorrow afternoon/evening as they plan to invite all of the kids who have been coming to the soccer camp over to the church for a service.

Kids Club Set Up Tuesday Morning

Tuesday morning we spent some time setting up a tarp over the kids club area so we could keep everyone out of the sun for part of the time...it was quite a process!  But, we are trying to keep everyone hydrated and we don't want kids over heating so we took on the challenge!!

Site 2 Monday

Site 2 is building up a long dirt road (near site 1) and also on the side of a hill so it's a bit of a tricky location. The team is working well to build a house for this family. You can see in the first photo the existing house and the beginning of the house we are building directly behind and up the hill.

Site 1 Monday

Site 1 is located WAY up a dirt road on the top of a hill. We are building for a young family, husband and wife with a four year old son. They are happy because their house is on the same piece of land as the wife's mother so they can all live close together. They have chickens and parakeets in a cage behind the house and the team can hear birds chirping all day as they work. The family has been very involved in helping to build on the site. You can see photos here by clicking on the album:

Kids Club Monday

Kids Club met in two locations on Monday--one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning club had about 40 children attend and the afternoon was at the school site and attracted over 100 children. Our TKA students had fun playing with the kids, doing crafts, singing songs and learning Bible verses together.

Site 8 (Brandon Ghiossi)

Several of our sites have some design challenges...on the side of a hill, next to a brick wall, between two other houses, next to a fence!! Somehow our leaders manage to figure out ways to build around the challenges!! Here are some photos from Site 8 so far...
