Site 1 Key Ceremony (More Photos from Wednesday)

Vinny and I also helped translate at the key ceremony on Site 1. We visited this site every day this week so we spent time getting to know the family each time we visited. The team was thankful every time we showed up because they didn't really have a strong Spanish speaker. The young couple, Christian and Judith are in their early 20s and have a four year old son, Christian. They will be living right next to Judith's parents who have a house that was built for them about 5 years ago (very similar to a TKA house but constructed by a different group.) Judith's mom invited us in to show us how they have made the house into a HOME. The walls were painted beautiful coral, turquoise and mint green. They had added crown molding, a ceiling fan and a built in book case. It was a treat to see how the family had made this house their own. We know Judith and Christian will do the same with the house we built together. They helped every day and are so thankful for their new home!

More Photos from Site 3 Key Ceremony (Wednesday afternoon)

Vinny and I were blessed to be at Site 3 for the key ceremony on Wednesday. This family was very involved in the building process all week and so thankful for this home. The husband said he was so thankful because his wife had been dreaming of this opportunity for a long time and our team was able to make those dreams come true. What a blessing to be a part of making their dreams come true by providing a safe and dry home. He said that they could not sleep when it rained in their other house because they would get too wet to sleep.

The grandparents of the family live in a house on the same property (behind Vinny), he is almost blind so he did not come down the steps for the photo and key ceremony but he wanted to add his thanks.
He said, "May God take care of you and bless you so that you may be able to do this for many more years. Thank you for blessing our family."

The team signed the Bible that they gave to the family.

And ended the day with some pelota!! The reward for all the hard work!!
